During this summer, which is also a season of mangoes, what can be better than a mango drink so delicious, smooth and chilled as Mango Milkshake to quench your thirst.

Here is a smooth and refreshing Mango Milkshake made using sweet mangoes and milk, sweetened with sugar or honey, flavoured with cloves and cardamom, decorated by drizzling mango puree.

INGREDIENTS :

(1) Pulp of 1 Kesar Mango. You may choose any Mango that is sweet, juicy and less fibrous.
(2) 500 ml of skimmed milk. You may use single toned milk also. Make sure the milk is boiled, then cooled and chilled.
(3) 15 teaspoons of Sugar. Amount of sugar that we use depends on the sweetness of the mango used.
(4) 4 Cloves (Lavang)
(5) 5 green Cardamom (Hari Elaichi), deseeded
(6) 10-15 ice cubes
(7) Mango ice cream
(8) Garnish with Mango puree

Cuisine : Indian
Course : Drinks / Beverage
Serves : 2 persons
Time : 15-20 minutes

METHOD :

(1) Take out the pulp of 1 Kesar Mango and collect them in a bowl. The pulp was so soft and smooth that by merely mashing or by beating with a spoon, I converted it into a puree. This mango pulp can be directly used to make milk shake or we can puree it and use. A small amount of puree will be used for decorating the mango milkshake in the end. Rest all will be used to make the mango milkshake.

(2) Take 5 green Cardamom pods, press and open them and take out the seeds housed inside them. You may discard the outer shell. Most of us know how to do this, yet showing to those who want to know.

Now, in a jar of the mixer grinder, put 15 teaspoons of Sugar, 4 cloves and seeds of 5 green Cardamoms. Grind them and form a powder.

Powdered Sugar ready.

(3) Now in a blending jar, add the mango pulp or if you already have mango puree, add it.

(4) Add the powdered Sugar (That includes cloves and cardamom) from step 2.

(5) Add 300 ml of milk (Boiled, cooled and chilled) and cover the blender with its lid.

(6) Add 10-15 ice cubes. Adding ice cubes is optional. As I used chilled mango pulp and milk, I did not use ice cubes. Cover the blender with its lid.

(7) Blend for 20-30 seconds until smooth milkshake is formed. You may get the desired consistency of the milkshake by adjusting the quantity of Mango pulp and milk.

(8) Add 200 ml of milk again and blend again to mix.

(9) Frothy and smooth Mango Milkshake is ready.

(10) Pour the Mango Milkshake into two tall serving glasses.

(11) Top the Mango Milkshake with mango ice cream.

(12) Drizzle with some Mango puree for decoration. Enjoy the Mango Milkshake.
