Strawberry Lassi

Lassi is a yogurt based drink that originated from India. You can find Lassi stalls almost everywhere in India. Depending on the place or purpose, Lassi can be sweet or sour drink. Strawberry Lassi is one of the best variations of Lassi.
 
Strawberry lassi is an easy to make drink that is prepared by blending fresh strawberries with Yogurt and milk, and flavoured with Cardamom powder. Lassi is served after a heavy meal. So, if you want to replace your carbonated drinks with something healthier and tastier, you can prepare sweet strawberry lassi in just a few minutes.
 
 
INGREDIENTS :
 
(1) 14 Strawberry pieces, chopped
(2) 10 teaspoons of Sugar (As per need)
(3) 300 grams of Yogurt / Curd / Dahi
(4) 300 ml of Milk (Full Cream Milk would give better results, however I used the toned one)
(5) Half teaspoon of Cardamom powder (Elaichi powder in Hindi)
 
All the ingredients were chilled, so I did not use ice cubes. Even the Strawberries were taken from the refrigerator.

METHOD :
 
(1) Add all the 14 pieces of strawberries after chopping in the blender / juicer. Add 10 teaspoons of sugar and blend until a smooth paste is formed.
 
(2) Now add 300 gms of Curd, 300 ml of Milk and Half teaspoon of Cardamom powder and blend again for upto 30 seconds – 1 minute.
 
(3) Pour in a serving glass. Garnish with Strawberries as shown in the picture. Sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
BENEFITS OF STRAWBERRY LASSI :
 
Strawberries reduce high blood pressure and boosts immunity. They also help to reduce appetite, decrease glucose, and reduce body weight and fat, all of which promote weight loss. Yogurt is loaded with good calcium. It even has good amount of protein.
 
Since lassi is churned out of yogurt or curd, it is said to be quite beneficial for our digestive system. It is light on the stomach and contains lactobacilli, healthy bacteria that lubricate the intestines and aid in smooth digestion. Lassi is a healthy and natural remedy for stomach bloating.
